Goodbye’s made beautiful
Compassionate in-home hospice and euthanasia across Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito, and Carpinteria. Sol supports families through the hardest goodbye with gentle guidance and peaceful care when it matters most. Opening Summer 2026.
Peaceful Passage
Every Sol appointment is tailored to your pet and your family.
Following your visit, families may choose from three aftercare options: private water cremation, communal water cremation, or private care of remains. If you have questions about what's right for your situation, please don't hesitate to reach out before you book.
-
A gentle, unhurried goodbye in the space where your pet feels most at ease. Every appointment includes a brief consultation, sedation, euthanasia and the Sol Remembrance Collection — keepsake items personalized for your pet and your family.
Cats and Small dogs: (0–25 lbs): $600
Medium Dogs (25.1–50 lbs): $700
Large Dogs (50.1–100 lbs): $800
Extra-Large (100+ lbs): $950
-
Your pet is cared for individually throughout the entire process. Remains are returned to you within approximately two weeks in one of six urn styles.
Private Water Cremation $295
-
Your pet is cared for alongside other beloved pets. Remains are not returned — instead they are scattered at sea in a peaceful final resting place in our beautiful California coast.
Communal Water Cremation $195
-
Some families prefer to care for their pet's remains themselves, and we fully support that choice. If you plan to bury your pet at home, California law requires burial on private property you own, at a depth of at least three feet, and away from any water sources. We recommend wrapping your pet in a natural, biodegradable material such as cotton or wool. Please check with your local municipality, as some cities and counties may have additional guidelines.
There is no fee for private care of remains.
Additional Services
-
Not sure if the time is right? A quality of life consultation gives you the space to ask questions, assess your pet's comfort, and make informed decisions. Each consultation includes a thorough evaluation and a written prescription for any recommended medications, which can be filled at your preferred pharmacy.
Virtual $150
In-Home $275

To ensure we can serve every family as fully as possible, a same-day or emergency appointment fee may apply for requests made within 24 hours. For families outside of our primary service area of Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito, Carpinteria, and Summerland, a small travel fee may be added based on distance.
We want to ensure every pet receives the gentlest possible experience and some appointments may require additional medications or time. When this is the case, we will let you know in advance and a small additional fee may apply.Any applicable fees will always be communicated transparently before your appointment is confirmed.
“The deepest love finds the courage to say goodbye.”
Aquamation
A gentle return, guided by water.
Oceans of Love
Our Communal Aquamation Partner
For families who wish to return their beloved companion to nature, Sol is proud to partner with Oceans of Love — a family-owned, eco-friendly service based in Southern California. After aquamation, Oceans of Love gently lays ashes at sea aboard their sailing vessel RASA or motor vessel Aperitivo, carried out personally by their compassionate team. Every ceremony is conducted with the utmost love and respect for the environment, honoring your pet's life with a peaceful, beautiful farewell.
Aquamation: Also known as water cremation or alkaline hydrolysis; is a natural, eco-conscious alternative to traditional flame cremation. Using warm water and gentle minerals, the process mirrors the same biological journey that occurs in nature, simply accelerated with care and intention.
No flame. No emissions. Just water.
Aquamation is the most environmentally gentle aftercare option available, returning up to 50% more remains than traditional cremation. Your pet's remains are returned to you as a lasting, tangible reminder of the life you shared.
Sol is proud to offer aquamation as our primary aftercare option, because how we care for your pet after goodbye matters just as much as the goodbye itself.
